"Arches National Park, Utah. It was a rainy day, I had to hike to this spot so I could capture this image with the sky under the arch. It took 4 photos to get this image. There was a tour from Germany there, 10 are shown here in the painting, all wearing matching white jackets, sort of gives you a scale of it."

"While painting on location, this old rattling pick up truck roared by and covered me and all my paint stuff with thick dust. I watched him disappear down the road and around that curve with the dust ligering in the air."

"Civil War subjects are difficult to do because of the extreme nature of the conflict. Over New Years in 1863 the Confederates ultimately lost this battle after having to abandon cannon and position. My depiction includes a lost and prized St. Andrews Cross Battle Flag."

"Last of the “Coastal” series, this is #9. This subject is very fluid, but it was a chance to learn the hydraulics of water as it forms and breaks into and out of a wave. This was the most difficult of the Series to put into paint."
